Hello. Discovered your delightful blog tonight, oh, *bookmarks* which led to something of an education. Your post on Laksa caught my attention. I had to chuckle there, you said "top 10 places" so I expected them all to be tops, turned out you only really liked two of them. Ha ha ha . The whole time I'm thinking, "This is rather strange, looking at all these pictures of a single dish and an analysis of each. This is the exact sort of thing that my brothers don't understand -- my interest in such things." Then I reached the end, read the comments and fell in love with the place.
But then I had to look up a bunch of words so I could figure out where you're located. I'm totally unfamiliar with that part of the world. I totally enjoyed reading about your adventures.
As to the dog, here's an anecdote for you; My neighbor's dog barked every time I went into my own back yard. He was on the other side of the fence. It occurred to me that to the dog, the fence was irrelevant, he considered it his territory. In order to disabuse him of that idea I needed to speak a language the dog would intuitively understand, so I waited until night then had a wee on the fence, leaving my own chemical trace, an odor unmistakable to a dog. It took a few times, and the dog needed to be reminded, but it worked. It also worked to house-train another dog, but that's a whole 'nuther anecdote.
